This is a conversation I had with a friend a few weeks ago over skype.

We teach principle, not method. This is so that you’ll trust in the Prince rather than a formula.

[8:39:43 PM] me: the king and the king’s domain is here,
[8:39:44 PM] me: rightnow
[8:39:47 PM] me: avaibable now
[8:39:52 PM] me: when you say that
[8:39:55 PM] me: you have to demonstrate
[8:40:09 PM] me: you have to demonstrate that the Kingdom of Light is greater than the kingdom on this earth
[8:40:18 PM] me: so when you preach “the kingdom is at hand”
[8:40:25 PM] me: you demonstrate by healing the sick
[8:40:28 PM] me: setting people free
[8:40:32 PM] me: luke 4:18, acts 10:38
[8:40:34 PM] Jane: Yes
[8:40:46 PM] me: luke 4:18 is when jesus said, “the spirit is upon me becaue he has anointed me…”
[8:40:59 PM] me: acts 10:38 says jesus went around healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil
[8:41:08 PM] me: 1 cor 2:4
[8:41:11 PM] me: and 1 cor 4:20
[8:41:22 PM] me: paul talks about not preaching with persuasive words of human wisdom
[8:41:29 PM] me: BUT with demonstratinos of the Holy Spirit and power
[8:41:40 PM] Jane: yessss
[8:41:40 PM] me: the kingdom is not in words, but in power
[8:41:55 PM] me: 1 cor 1:17 he even says, if you only use words, you make the cross of no effect
[8:42:06 PM] me: so. we have to bring power
[8:42:22 PM] me: a lot of people have a misconception of the devil as a really big guy( i think i told you this last time)
[8:42:27 PM] me: he’s actually really small
[8:42:28 PM] Jane: mhm
[8:42:35 PM] me: everything he does is about deception
[8:42:38 PM] me: smoke and mirrors
[8:42:42 PM] Jane: yea
[8:42:46 PM] me: trick people into believing that he has power
[8:42:53 PM] Jane: right
[8:42:55 PM] me: that’s why they put up when he attacks
[8:42:59 PM] me: put up with him *
[8:43:04 PM] Jane: yea
[8:43:06 PM] me: sooo.. that’s all wrong
[8:43:09 PM] me: he’s totally defeated
[8:43:13 PM] me: eph 1:21-23
[8:43:18 PM] me: says jesus is at the rigth hand
[8:43:24 PM] me: above ALL principality
[8:43:28 PM] me: ALL mights and powers
[8:43:36 PM] me: over EVERY name that is name in this age and ages to come
[8:43:52 PM] me: and then he says that he (the head) has given all things to the church
[8:43:55 PM] me: which is his body
[8:43:56 PM] me: (us)
[8:44:17 PM] me: all over colossians he says that he’s stripped the devil
[8:44:19 PM] me: disarmed him
[8:44:20 PM] me: defeated him
[8:44:24 PM] Jane: mhm
[8:44:28 PM] me: kaboom, pow
[8:44:32 PM] me: we are hidden IN him
[8:44:33 PM] Jane: loll
[8:44:38 PM] me: so that’s why in Rom 16:20
[8:44:47 PM] me: paul says, “and the GOd of peace will soon crush satan under YOUR feet”
[8:44:55 PM] me: we aare His body
[8:45:04 PM] me: so we, not Him, have to move
[8:45:13 PM] Jane: amen
[8:45:20 PM] me: Luke 10:19 says that we’ve been given power over ALL the power of the enemy
[8:45:26 PM] me: to trample on snakes and scorpions
[8:45:33 PM] me: and NOTHING by ANY means will hurt us
[8:45:43 PM] me: so healing the sick and casting out demons simply doing that
[8:45:54 PM] me: reminding the devil about how our foot is on his head
[8:46:07 PM] me: how are you doin

[8:46:41 PM] me: at this point, what would you do if i stuck a sick person in front of you

[8:47:14 PM] me: cause.. it’s a teeny little devil

[8:47:29 PM] Jane: right. And he has no dominion anymore
[8:47:34 PM] me: the only thing remaining would be.. “how do i actually get a guy healed”
[8:47:38 PM] me: practicals.
[8:47:42 PM] me: yea?
[8:47:43 PM] Jane: It’s my territory now
[8:47:45 PM] me: boom, yes.
[8:47:56 PM] me: so imagine this.
[8:48:00 PM] me: if i was your boss
[8:48:04 PM] me: and you were the employee
[8:48:07 PM] me: who has the authority?
[8:48:08 PM] Jane: mhm

[8:48:23 PM] me: that means that you have to do everything i say, correct?

[8:49:32 PM] me: so because we are IN him, we have been given the same authority
[8:49:55 PM] me: matthew 28:18, “all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me”
[8:49:56 PM] me: jesus
[8:50:01 PM] Jane: mhm
[8:50:03 PM] me: so that means the devil has none
[8:50:06 PM] me: zero.
[8:50:09 PM] Jane: right
[8:50:14 PM] me: he has ability
[8:50:16 PM] me: but no authority
[8:50:24 PM] me: robbers have ability to steal
[8:50:26 PM] me: but no authority to
[8:50:27 PM] Jane: right
[8:50:32 PM] me: so when the cop arrives
[8:50:42 PM] me: he can do whatever he needs to do to stop the lawbreaker
[8:50:46 PM] me: the code-breaker
[8:50:53 PM] me: (that’s you)
[8:51:05 PM] me: when the cop sees teh robber
[8:51:23 PM] me: he does not need to call HQ and ask, “hey, there’s a robber, ‘is it your will for me to stop them?’”
[8:51:35 PM] me: that cop would get fired real quick
[8:51:39 PM] Jane: right
[8:51:40 PM] me: why? he doesn’t know the law, the code
[8:51:48 PM] me: (you’re the cop)
[8:51:54 PM] Jane: yea
[8:52:04 PM] me: how do people in authority speak to people who aren’t in authoroity?
[8:52:07 PM] Jane: I stop injustices
[8:52:14 PM] me: think about it
[8:52:18 PM] me: teacher – student
[8:52:19 PM] Jane: Tell them what’s what
[8:52:21 PM] me: cop – robber
[8:52:24 PM] me: boss – employee
[8:52:32 PM] me: parent – child
[8:52:39 PM] me: they’re all consistent
[8:52:43 PM] Jane: They command
[8:52:45 PM] me: bingo
[8:52:53 PM] me: there is no question in their voice
[8:53:03 PM] Jane: right
[8:53:04 PM] me: they expect that what they say will happen
[8:53:06 PM] me: why?
[8:53:10 PM] me: it’s mater of authoiryt
[8:53:12 PM] me: it’s a law
[8:53:15 PM] Jane: right
[8:53:22 PM] me: that’s just hte way it works
[8:53:33 PM] Jane: ok
[8:53:35 PM] me: to get to the core of it, that’s all you really need to know to heal the sick

[8:54:03 PM] me: jesus talks about “whoever tells htis mountain to move, it’s gonna move”
[8:54:16 PM] me: “as long as you dont doubt in your heart’
[8:54:17 PM] me: =]
[8:54:32 PM] me: that doubting in your heart part is taken care of if you understand authority
[8:54:40 PM] me: because now there’s no longer a question of whether it will happen or not
[8:54:42 PM] me: it’s final
[8:54:43 PM] me: why?
[8:54:46 PM] me: you’re a King
[8:54:48 PM] me: with authority
[8:54:56 PM] me: (queen, whatevs.)
[8:54:56 PM] me: haha

[8:55:15 PM] me: he said, “i’m a guy under authority”
[8:55:22 PM] me: “when i say “go” my servant goes”
[8:55:32 PM] me: “so, just say the word, and i know my guy’s gonna get healed”
[8:55:38 PM] Jane: Awesome.
[8:55:40 PM] me: Jesus says “Hey, that’s great faith”
[8:55:51 PM] me: jesus equated understanding authority with great faith
[8:55:56 PM] me: boooom.
[8:56:02 PM] me: that was easy
[8:56:11 PM] me: it’s not about some crazy monster faith coming on you
[8:56:17 PM] Jane: haha
[8:56:17 PM] me: or some crazy boldness from above
[8:56:32 PM] me: just udnerstand that you’ve been given the gun and badge
[8:56:39 PM] me: that means you got it.
[8:56:48 PM] Jane: Hmmm
[8:56:51 PM] me: but if you don’t act like, it demonstrates you don’t really believe it
[8:57:01 PM] me: if you saw a cop that wasn’t confident
[8:57:03 PM] me: or was wishy washy
[8:57:09 PM] me: and hesitant to stop a robber
[8:57:18 PM] me: the robber would just scoff and say “man, you’re a joke”
[8:57:21 PM] me: right?
[8:57:25 PM] Jane: Exactly
[8:57:30 PM] me: that’s 90% of the western church
[8:57:35 PM] Jane: UGH
[8:57:38 PM] Jane: yea it is
[8:57:50 PM] me: most people don’t even think robbers are bad
[8:57:59 PM] Jane: that’s true..
[8:58:05 PM] me: yea.
[8:58:07 PM] me: so.
[8:58:10 PM] me: boom.

[8:58:25 PM] me: if you read all the ways that jesus healed people
[8:58:30 PM] me: it was always short
[8:58:31 PM] me: command

[8:58:38 PM] me: just like the teacher/boss/cop
[8:58:58 PM] me: “sit down” “do your homeowrk” “get to work” “you’re fired” “you’re under arrest” “Freeze” “hands up”
[8:59:14 PM] me: “be healed” “pick up your mat” “wash your eyes” “be opened” “rise and walk”
[8:59:15 PM] Jane: hahha
[8:59:28 PM] me: that’s all it takes
[8:59:35 PM] me: it’s not in the words
[8:59:40 PM] Jane: AHh
[8:59:45 PM] me: teachers don’t repeat a magical phrase to get her students to do stuff
[8:59:50 PM] me: it’s in understanding who she is
[8:59:50 PM] Jane: Right
[8:59:55 PM] Jane: right
[8:59:57 PM] me: ” i am a teacher, they must listen to me”

[9:00:59 PM] me: half the time, people jsut touched his cloths
[9:01:11 PM] me: we’ve seen people healed like taht too
[9:01:16 PM] me: just touch them
[9:01:24 PM] Jane: lol

[9:01:35 PM] me: if i put a sick person in front of you right now, what would you do?
[9:01:46 PM] Jane: Tell the sickness to leave

[9:03:49 PM] me: does a boss doubt his employees will obey?

[9:04:07 PM] me: leaves us very little reason to do the same
[9:04:16 PM] Jane: right
[9:04:21 PM] me: i do understand, there are circumstances where i dont’ see any change
[9:04:27 PM] me: that’s a fact
[9:04:41 PM] me: but not everyone was healed the moment they left jesus
[9:04:46 PM] me: 10 lepers
[9:04:58 PM] me: it says they were healed, as they went
[9:05:12 PM] me: not, when they turned to leave
[9:05:32 PM] Jane: Mmm
[9:05:39 PM] Jane: ok
[9:05:49 PM] me: when God created the universe, did his words lose any power?
[9:06:03 PM] me: the universe is still expanding
[9:06:12 PM] me: so that shows that his word truly does not return void
[9:06:13 PM] Jane: True
[9:06:17 PM] Jane: yea
[9:06:24 PM] me: if it’s christ inyou
[9:06:31 PM] me: and you’re operating out of the authority of Christ
[9:06:35 PM] me: neither do your words return void
[9:06:57 PM] Jane: what about matters of the heart?

[9:07:28 PM] Jane: Like if someone is suffering from depression..you can’t really see that
[9:07:45 PM] me: to be simple, it’s devil
[9:07:58 PM] me: a spirit of depression
[9:08:11 PM] me: it’s not a spirit that comes to cause people to live in depression
[9:08:17 PM] me: it’s a depressed spirit
[9:08:27 PM] me: that deceives people into identifying with the spirit
[9:08:33 PM] me: that’s why people say, “i’m depressed”
[9:08:34 PM] Jane: ahh
[9:08:41 PM] me: no.. you’re YOU
[9:08:47 PM] me: depression, is depressed
[9:08:51 PM] Jane: right
[9:08:54 PM] me: they fail to separate the 2
[9:08:58 PM] me: so they empower the spirit
[9:09:03 PM] me: to keep them depressed
[9:09:15 PM] Jane: how do i disempower it?
[9:09:19 PM] me: same things
[9:09:22 PM] me: you have authoirty
[9:09:23 PM] me: they don’t
[9:09:27 PM] Jane: right
[9:09:42 PM] me: “depression, GO.”

[9:20:19 PM] me: as of now, i think that is the only reason why we don’t see everything instantaneously all the time

[9:20:42 PM] Jane: Yeap.

[9:20:59 PM] me: the first time you told it to “sit” .. it probably didn’t sit

[9:21:28 PM] me: and even if it doesn’t sit

[9:22:54 PM] Jane: I’ve never been affraid of people.. even when i was first saved. I would run up to people and pray for them

[9:24:16 PM] Jane: One time i made my friend steph stop the car in the middle of the road and i ran two blocks to pray for a guy
[9:24:28 PM] Jane: i didn’t realize that he was handicapped until i got there
[9:24:32 PM] Jane: then i was scared
[9:24:36 PM] Jane: cos i didn’t understand
[9:25:18 PM] Jane: I’ve been preventing myself from being myself
[9:25:31 PM] Jane: mainly cos of lack of knowledge
