Downtown Ministry

[Last night, 11:30PM -2AM] I hit the nightlife of downtown San Jose with Ryan, Laura, and Dennis.

We first hit a bar, Ryan and Laura went inside, Dennis and I camped outside (we’re too young). We tried going for words of knowledge, tried about 4-5 people and then we decided to move. One notable act was when Dennis all of sudden said, “watch this.”

He went up to 2 drunk girls and a guy sitting on the sidewalk and asked them to hold out their hand. He released the presence of God over them, but they didn’t bat an eye. Dennis asked the girl he was talking to what her name was, and the the girl next to her interrupted and said, “Hey you should tell us what her name is.” Dennis waited a second and said, “Sandra.” “NOPE.” The girl had him try to get her name too, but it was another miss… They were all drunk, and we walked away.

It was at this point, we realized the need for the raw, undeniable, power, and Love of God to show up. Reading the mail, people walking out of wheelchairs. It’s great that we currently have about 100% breakthrough for any pain in the body, and legs growing, but it has not been sufficient.

We tried to find more people, but we just shot and missed about 5-6 more times. About 20 minutes later, we see this lady in a scooter asking for money. Dennis gave her some money and then we offered to pray for her. She had a laundry list of issues, strokes, diabetes, cancer, numbness, pain. We commanded and all her lower back pain to leave and it did. We didn’t get much breakthrough with anything else, it was quite frustrating, though she did try to stand up and walk. (These are the ones that push you back on your knees in the secret place).

From there, we met up with Ryan and Laura again, and we took a break on a staircase off the sidewalk. They updated us, and they got a few people healed in the bar and dropped a huge tip for the bartender. We debriefed and vented a little. It felt like there were so many walls, and we knew something had to change. A group of drunk guys came up to us just to say hi, and Dennis showed one guy what the presence of God was, and Ryan grew out two of their legs. They walked away, quite buzzed and confused.

Dennis decided to be radical, be free, and be himself, and he just got on the sidewalk, on his knees and then started to pray and worship. People walked by and looked at him weird. Finally, there was a black guy that came up to us, he thought Dennis was getting ‘god’ to get him a girl. When he told the guy that he was seriously praying and worship God, it caught him off guard. He was curious, and then we told him that we were healers. He immediately let us pray for his hurt knee. He got healed, and Ryan gave him his business card.

We were about to move on until a lady who was doing an amazing job parallel parking pulled up. She got out of the car, and Ryan said, “Hey this might be a weird question, but do you have any pain in your body?” Ryan had a word of knowledge for her (forgot what) and she got healed too. Got to love on her a bit.

When we were on the move, another lady power-walked past us, so Ryan called her out too. When he told her that we were healers, she was somewhat open. She held out her wrist, Ryan knocked out, and the lady left saying, “If the pain comes back in 5 minutes, I’ll be on your case.”

The last 30-40 minutes of our excursion is a bit fuzzy because I didn’t write this as soon as I got home (it’s 24 hours later…) the gist is, Ryan lost some of his marbles, and he jumped on any hint of any impression, and saw about 5-6 people healed in different, separate crowds and instances (some of them seemed preeetty scary).

As a conclusion for this trip, we realized how much we don’t know, and how much this gospel needs to work OUTSIDE of the church. We’ve been too nice– in churches, people don’t think. Christians don’t think. This leg-growing this works and ENTERTAINS Christians, but people in the world THINK. The leg thing rarely works as something substantial for believing in God. As much it is a miracle for the legs (it is really your skeletal system shifting), it doesn’t cut it. It needs to be undeniable, like in Acts 4:16.

We really starting to get a feel for what John meant in the last verse of his book =]. Ryan doesn’t think I can pull this off, but I want to try to steward my testimonies. It’s like a journal/dairy of supernatural power….

Nazarene Church

Dennis got invited to lead worship at a Nazarene Church today. He insisted that he would not go unless he could he the sick afterwards.

The whole crew went.

Before we even got to the actual service, there was a guy in the lobby who had a bandage on his wrist (he hurt it in a fight…). Knocked out most of the pain, and he felt the swelling go down.

When we go to the actual place they had service, Dennis was leading worship. The message reminded me of our old sunday schools… with worksheets.

At the end, they gave the floor to Dennis, and of course….

It started with one leg. Then we grew out everyone’s leg. There were a myriad of people who needed healings. Some people with weird back issues, one girl had weird tension in the jaw…I was playing guitar, so I didn’t really get to get in on the action. The whole youth group was only 10 people so everyone watched, everyone got to get in on it.

Afterwards, we were heading to Carrows, Ryan was bored so he wanted to stir up something. He pulled over to the 7-eleven, and as we were about to enter, a guy sitting by the door asked if we had any money. “Gold nor silver do I have, but what I have I give to you…” Ryan asked if the guy had any pain, the guy said he had back pain. Prayed real quick, the pain left. Woot. We gave him $30 and a bible, it totally blew his mind…

Mary Statue

Today we went to this Mary Statue out near Mission College.

Ryan went up to two ladies (a mom and a daughter), he grew out the daughter’s leg, and all her back pain left. Laura and I went to join him, and then he grew out the mom’s leg.

We talked a little more with them and then Ryan asked if she knew anyone else with any kind of sickness. She called up her friend who had migraines and back pain, Ryan knocked it out over the phone and the friend on the phone started crying.

The mom called up another friend who had more neck/shoulder/back issues, I knocked it out over the phone, and then gave it back to the mom.

The mom called up another friend who had a small tumor in her head, Ryan prayed for them and they said they felt some throbbing in her head (good sign!). As he was praying on the phone, Laura and I spoke to them about what we do, healing is for every believer, it’s our inheritance, they were very encouraged because up to this point, they had never encountered anything like this.

We spoke healing over a few other family members who were overseas. Ryan gave them his card, and his phone number so that they could call if they had more friends who needed healing.

The 2 ladies from Israel left very encouraged =].

I healed a lady’s tense neck/back, and grew her niece’s leg out.

Ryan and I approached a lady being pushed in a wheelchair (because of age). We knocked out her back pain, didn’t feel like we should ask her to stand.

I went up to this latino-looking dude, asked him if he had any pain in his body, he said he was fine. I was about to go and then I said, “hey did you know you have one leg shorter than the other?” He said he knew, so I grew his leg out.

I think there were 3-4 other people we randomly approached, but didn’t get to pray for them.

Shift is coming…

…aaand now it’s here.

Things are shifting. Things have shifted. I’m in transition. I got off the ground a few months ago, hit the peak a few weeks ago, and now I’m on my way down, to land in a different spot.

I can’t say I foresaw this 3 months ago, let alone a year… I never thought I would see the things I’ve seen, hear the things I’ve heard, do the things I’ve done, and learn the things I’ve learned in the past 2 months.

But now there’s no going back. I’ve seen too much, heard too much, done too much, and learned too much to ever return to the perspectives I used to have. It’s too late. I’ve gone too far.

I’m past the point of no return.

Look out world, I’m moving, and I ain’t stopping.
